Global Politics Review is organizing a panel for graduate students at the YINKS (Yonsei Institute for North Korean Studies) International Conference on North Korean Studies. The panel will take place on October 14, 9:30 am at the President Hotel in Seoul, and it will be cohosted by Global Politics Review, NK Review, Yonsei GSIS, and YINKS. Professor John Delury from Yonsei University will give an introduction speech.
Four distinguished panelists will present their research on:
- Daniel Foulkes (Hannam University, Korea): Diagnosing Media Framing of Security – North Korea as a Nuclear Threat and Global Migration in the case of a South Korean newspaper.
- Celia Vignon (Korea University, Korea): NGOs and International Human Rights Implementation – The Use of International Pressure Models in the North Korean Case.
- Jacco Zwetsloot (Leiden University, Netherlands): Visual Metaphors in North Korean Graphic Novels for Children.
- Justin Kim-Hummel (Johns Hopkins University, US): Diplomatic Relations with the DPRK – India as a Global Case Study.
The discussants will be:

- Sarah Son (Post-doctoral Research Associate, School of Oriental and African Studies, London)
- Stephan Balncke (Professor, Freie Universität Berlin)

- Lonnie Edge (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul)
